Week One - Home In Raleigh

This week I began my last course of the MSIM program at Boston University called E-Commerce. This course poses challenges for me as I am not the most computer saavy person; however, I enjoy learning new things and creating my first blog has been fun!

Another first occurred for me this week. Last Thursday I ordered my first laptop computer (my home computer was almost 10 years old and very outdated) and it was received today. The laptop is a Dell Vostro 1500 and so far it has been great. For some reason I had envisioned that when opening the box I would encounter a vast number of wires and cords that only a genius would be able to put together. Fortunately, it was easy to assemble as there were only two cords that needed to be attached.

One of the reasons I am so excited to finally have a laptop is because I really enjoy traveling and now I can do so while taking this class. I won't have to worry about finding a computer when I am away (although I will need to find connectivity). Looks like I will become a regular customer at Panera Bread and Starbucks!

My next trip will be this weekend as I travel up to Boston to see my family. I will spend the weekend there and then head down to Providence, RI for a work conference.
